I figured out this Blog stuff a little late, which meant with my first post yesterday I left you all two weeks behind.
Tails & dewclaws and a basic puppy check were done at our local veterinarian on August 13, when the pups were two days old. So far, that has been their only trip outside my office/guestroom where they were born.
It is amazing how all the seconds add up when you are doing the
"Super Puppy" bio-sensor handling with 12 pups! But since research shows it helps development, we stick with it. It also gives us a daily chance to check all the pups and make sure they are doing well. They are all gaining weight nicely. We are starting to leave the door open more (with a baby gate up) so that the other dogs can get used to the puppy smell, and so that they hear more of the house activity. In a couple weeks or so, they will move to the family room where they will get plenty of exposure to lots of sounds, animals and people. Our set up there allows for outside access to a secure area.
Eyes started opening this past weekend. Most of them have their eyes open now. I actually remembered to charge my camera battery, so will post pictures this afternoon!
